FRU Vegetable Crops Shop
Primary responsibility is to assist project leaders with
vegetable field research. Major crops that worked with here
include sweet corn, snap beans, cabbage, cucumber, squash,
pumpkins, tomatoes, and lettuce to name a few. - land preparations including plowing (moldboard,
chisel), discing, etc. - spraying - herbicide, fungicide, insecticide, etc - planting - cover crops, permanent sod, transplanting,
direct seeding, etc - equipment maintenance, repair, modification, etc - cultivation and sidedressing - irrigation such as overhead hardhose traveler, overhead
